San Teodoro / Sun and Bass 2025

Stagno di San Teodoro and Isola Tavolara

In September, there’s only one place to be for me: San Teodoro, Sardinia. Each year, Drum and Bass lovers from all over the world go on a sort of pilgrimage to attend the best DnB festival in the world: Sun and Bass. This is a magical place to me - it’s where I’m able to fully express myself, getting lost in melodies and rhythms that feel like home to my heart and soul, surrounded by beautiful human beings (and many cute cats).

I’ve been to San Teodoro seven times now (six times for Sun and Bass) and it always amazes me, how much a place can change your attitude. I feel like I become a different version of myself. Maybe that’s due to the gorgeous warm light, the beautiful beaches or the delicious food. Whatever it is, I like it.

I always take a camera (or multiple) with me, to capture some of the beauty of the island. This time, we finally went to see the flamingos in the Stagno behind La Cinta. Unfortunately, I don’t have a longer lens than my Tamron 70 - 200. However, it was still really cool to see the flamingos and get some photos.

We also managed to see part of a lunar eclipse. Sadly, we missed the beginning, since we couldn’t get a clear view of the moon rising over the ocean. I at least tried to capture the end of the eclipse from our garden. Speaking of our garden: Two very cute guests joined us almost every day. We suspect that the two cats are siblings (they look so similar, right?).

I can’t wait to return to San Teodoro again in 2026. If you’d like to see all my favourite photos I shot around the town over the years, head to this gallery.
