Kraftwerk Birsfelden
Sometimes you don’t have to travel far to find something cool that’s worth photographing. At the height of summer, we decided to take a walk and visit the Kraftwerk (power station) in Birsfelden. It’s a very impressive and - at least in my opinion - aesthetic structure. It was designed by architect Hans Hofmann and built in the 1950s. There are also two locks, which let ships pass the power station. I really enjoyed the contrast between this industrial structure and the recreational area on which part of it is located, known as the “Kraftwerksinsel”. The company that runs the Kraftwerk has uploaded a few photos of the construction, so click here if you’re interested in those.
